Features

Tensio doesn’t take your word — it verifies.

Every goal has a real verification source, and under each goal you can see which one. Goals that can’t be verified never make it into the catalog.

The catalog

You pick goals instead of typing them

42 ready-made goals in six categories, with search. No free text: “no sugar” could simply be claimed.

Movement 14 goals

8,000 to 15,000 steps, floors climbed, active minutes, workouts, swimming, yoga, strength training, active calories.

Endurance 6 goals

Run 5, 10 or 15 km · cycle 20, 40 or 60 km.

Sleep 2 goals

Sleep 7 or 8 hours — or a custom sleep goal with a time window you choose yourself.

Body 1 goal

Weigh yourself daily. The entry is verified, not the weight.

Focus 3 goals

At most 90 minutes, 2 or 3 hours of screen time — plus phone curfew and individual apps.

Code 16 goals

Commits, contribution calendar, pull requests, reviews and issues on GitHub. Requires Tensio Plus.

On top of that come goals you configure yourself: getting up at a fixed time (with a wake check after the alarm), a phone curfew from a certain hour, a place you have to be at when checking in, a specific repository — and, with Tensio Plus, honour-based goals Tensio cannot verify.

Verification sources

How Tensio knows you made it

Claiming it isn’t enough. A tap on “Check in” starts the verification — if it succeeds, the day counts.

Verification sources and the goals based on them
Source What is verified from it
Health Connect Steps, exercise minutes, active calories, workouts, running and cycling distance, floors climbed, weight entries, sleep duration
Usage data Total screen time, usage time of individual apps, evening phone curfew
Location (GPS) Be at the place at check-in — a single moment, no continuous tracking
Wake check A small task after the alarm, so that “got up” really means got up
GitHub Commits, contribution calendar, pull requests opened and merged, code reviews, issues, commits in one specific repo
The “New goal” screen: goal selection, note field, the rhythms Daily, Weekdays (Mon–Fri) and Weekly, plus the durations Unlimited, 1 week, 1 month and a free date.
Rhythm & streak

You decide how often it gets serious

Daily, weekdays, weekly

You decide how often a check-in is due — and whether the goal runs without an end (for habits) or has an end date (for a project).

The streak

Every completed due day extends it, a missed one breaks it. Today’s still-open day doesn’t — as long as the day is running, you haven’t lost it.

The timeline

In the goal detail you see every day at a glance and can page back and forth: ✓ done, ✗ missed, ring = open today.

Reminders

Tensio speaks up before it gets expensive

A missed check-in costs real money. So the app reminds you actively — and, if you want, verifies on its own.

Evening reminder

Reminds you of open check-ins before your stake is forfeited — including a last call at 22:45.

Learning reminder

Speaks up per goal shortly after your usual check-in time has passed: if you normally run at 18:00, you’ll hear from us at 19:30, not at 20:00.

Automatic evening verification

Verifies health and minimum-usage goals in the evening and checks in what you’ve achieved. Honour-based, limit and location goals still need your own confirmation.

Weekly review

Sundays at 20:30, a summary of your week — days achieved and stakes prevented.

Plus a home-screen widget. “Tensio – Today” shows your open check-ins along with the stake currently on the line, and opens the app when tapped. Inside the app the “At stake today” card does the same: it sums up the stakes of all check-ins still open today. If everything is done, it shows €0.

Pause jokers

For holidays and illness — without justifying yourself

A joker pauses a due day. We don’t ask for the reason and require no proof.

Three free per month

Unused jokers accumulate — up to a maximum of nine.

Never retroactive

Only for today or the future. No joker can rescue a day you already missed — otherwise the stake would be worthless.

Holds the streak

A joker preserves your streak but doesn’t extend it.

If three aren’t enough you can buy more — and earn them through “Refer & earn”. At most seven pause days in a row; in anti-charity mode there are no free jokers.

Together

A streak someone can see breaks less often

Invite friends

By link. You see each other’s streaks and know who is really sticking with it.

Leaderboard

Who lasts the longest? Shown with username, profile picture and your character.

Shared goals

One goal for several people. The team streak counts as high as your weakest member — the stakes stay individual, everyone answers for themselves.

Team joker

Covers one day for the whole group when it doesn’t work out for a single member.

Refer & earn

One free joker for every friend who sticks with it — it only arrives once the person you referred really runs a goal and has saved a payment method of their own. Not at sign-up.

Public profile

You choose your username and profile picture — only what you put there becomes visible.

Challenges

An undertaking with people you don’t have to know

Everyone stakes their own money on their own goal — what counts is who delivers reliably. The difference from the friends area in one sentence: there you see who knows you; here you see what you are working on with strangers.

Join with a code

Eight characters or a link, that’s all it takes. Joining doesn’t make you friends with anyone — the others only see your name and your rate.

The specification comes first

The creator fixes the goal, rhythm and period before sharing. Whoever gets the link knows what they are signing up for — and links a matching goal of their own.

Rated by rate, not streak

Days done out of days due. Joining late doesn’t put you at the bottom automatically — and anyone who hasn’t linked a goal yet isn’t rated at all.

No shared pot

Everyone chooses their own stake and beneficiary, and there is nothing to win. That is deliberate: a publicly joinable leaderboard with a shared pot would be gambling.

Up to 500 participants

Ten without a subscription, 500 with one. The size is fixed when the challenge is created and visible beforehand — nobody joins and then runs into a wall the creator didn’t pay for.

Leaving costs nothing

Your row disappears from the list. Your goal carries on unchanged — stake and all. What the group has already landed stays landed.

If a challenge verifies nothing, it says so. A challenge can run on your word too — then it carries a badge and the note that among strangers only the participants’ word counts. That is a weaker promise than among friends, and it isn’t dressed up as anything else.

The statistics screen: “Saved through discipline”, below it the donated amount, the weekly summary and a grid of fourteen achievements.
Looking back

Your record, in black and white

Year heatmap

Every day a square: held, nothing due — or red where you broke. A tap shows that day’s detail.

Monthly and yearly recap

Stake saved, days held, longest streak, success rate — as an image to share. Role models work.

Your character

A “mini-me” representing you in the leaderboard and in groups. Put together yourself, no photo needed.

Donation history

Every charge is traceable individually: when, how much and who it went to.

Beneficiaries

63 organisations and clubs to choose from

The same list serves both modes. Whether a beneficiary counts as donation or anti-charity isn’t decided by them — but by your relationship to them. Open a category to see who is behind it.

Day to day

Small things that make the difference

Appearance

Light, dark or system setting — plus four styles: standard, dynamic (picks up your home screen’s colours), high contrast and retro. Or a colour of your own.

App lock

Unlock on open with your fingerprint or device lock. Your goals are nobody’s business just because they briefly hold your phone.

German and English

The whole app exists in both languages — either fixed or following your system language.

Archive

Finished goals move to the archive rather than the bin. You can bring them back at any time, and archived ones don’t count towards your goal limit.

Signing in

With an email address or with Google. Forgot your password? The code arrives by email straight into the app — no link that leads nowhere.

Help on board

A guided app tour, a help centre with over sixty questions in nine categories and a direct line to support — all in your profile.
