A code that gives your audience something.
Anyone who enters your code in the app gets free jokers. If they later take out a subscription, you get a commission — out of our margin, never out of the share promised to the organisations.
We hand out codes personally, not through a form — just tell us where you publish.
Three steps, no black box
You get your code
Not a random string but your name — MAXI rather than K7PQ2XMR. People should be able to remember it from a video without spelling it out.
Your audience redeems it
Either at sign-up or later under “Profile → Creator code”. It grants free jokers that never expire — a joker pauses a due day without the stake being forfeited.
If it becomes a subscription, you earn
The commission is created on that account’s first subscription charge and is paid out after the maturity period. We transfer in batches, by hand.
What you get — and where the money comes from
A commission per referred subscription
The rate is agreed individually and depends on your reach — which is why there is no single figure here. What applied to an individual subscription is recorded; nothing changes retroactively.
Paid from our margin
Of €5.49, Tensio is left with €1.96 a month after tax, the Google fee and the organisation’s share. The commission comes out of that figure. The organisations’ share is publicly promised and is not up for negotiation when marketing turns out costlier than expected.
Jokers, not a discount
Your audience deliberately gets no price reduction: the subscription price sits with Google, not with us. Jokers are what we can actually give away — and they make immediate sense once you have used the app once.
The attribution sticks
One account, one code, permanently. Whoever found us through you stays attributed to you — even if the subscription only arrives months later. A code cannot be swapped for another one afterwards.
Why the commission doesn’t arrive straight away
Five weeks after the first subscription charge we check whether the paid month really ran its course. Only then does it become payable.
- Cancelling doesn’t hurt you. Someone who cancels after three weeks keeps Plus until the end of the month — they paid, you delivered, the commission stands.
- A refund ends the claim. Google refunds subscriptions in the first few days almost without exception. If it is refunded, nothing was paid and nothing was earned.
- You cannot redeem your own code. Otherwise the programme would be a machine that feeds itself.
The five weeks are calculated, not guessed: Google’s automatic refund runs for 48 hours, and a goodwill refund via support usually up to 30 days. Anyone who hasn’t refunded by day 35 has paid.
What we expect from you
Do I have to actually like Tensio?
Yes, otherwise there is no point. The app charges real money when someone misses their goal — recommending that without having used it costs you your audience’s trust and us ours. We would rather have an honest assessment than an enthusiastic one.
Do you script what I say?
No. But two things have to be right, because otherwise they would be false: the code gives jokers, not a discount, and Tensio is not a prize draw — anyone who reaches their goal pays nothing, and there is nothing to win. You also have to label advertising as such; that isn’t Tensio’s rule but the law’s.
How do I see whether my code is landing?
We come back to you with the numbers: codes redeemed and subscriptions that came out of them. That is exactly what the jokers are for — without a reason nobody types in a code, and without a code there is no attribution.
How are payouts handled?
In batches by bank transfer, once the commissions have matured. For that we need your bank details and, depending on country and status, your tax number. Those details are stored apart from the rest and are only loaded for the payout.
Which countries does this cover?
Tensio is Android-only so far, and the app is available in German and English. An audience that mostly uses iPhones won’t get far with your code — better to tell us up front what yours looks like.
Sound like you?
Tell us where you publish and how big your audience is. We reply even when it isn’t a fit.
